The Greek place is a MUST EAT place! There are the typical Greek restaurants around Long Island, but they cannot compare to the flavors of The Greek Place.
This tiny little place sits on a busy road. You would think people would miss it driving by, but everyone knows this sweet little spot. Besides the typical gyros, salads, and spanakopitas, they have new creations every month!
My favorites include: Gyro Poppers (similiar to jalapeno poppers), Kratos (gyro philly cheese steak), Gyritos (Greek Place taquitos), Veggie Burger (made with spinach, feta, rice patty)…
Chef Pete is awesome, a friend to all. When he heard I was recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy, he customized all of my orders. They even added a special dish just for us gluten-free folks- Gyro Tacos: Gyro meat, lettuce, onions, tomato, cilantro, feta, and tzatziki in a gluten free taco shell served with the most amazing rice ever!
These guys are so awesome that they won the Golden Grub award and a Best of Long Island for their gyros.Michelle P.
Visited today. Not only did the food meet my expectations but the service, and both combined, over-exceeded them. This place is what makes me feel great about giving 5-star reviews and not feel so bad when giving a business 1 star for the lack of their customer service. I ordered the Olympic gyro and through Yelp got the free side of Greek salad. The owner himself checked and made sure that everything was to my liking. I am a true supporter of small business and being self-employed myself I get inspired by places with outstanding food and service like this, especially in NY where “rude” is the norm. The entire staff was very nice and as I told the guys on my way out the gyro and the fries were so good that my baby bump started kicking and dancing out of happiness!Koni Z.
I love this place. The owner and others there are all friendly and make sure your order is correct. I love the calamari. I asked them to leave the lid off because it was take-out and I didn’t want it to get soggy on the way home. He told me it wasn’t necessary because they cut slits in the lid for that very reason. First place that I ever had do that! Anyway, my husband and son love their gyros and lemon potatoes too. Easy to pass by because it’s tiny, but worth looking for.Mindi S.
